Phoebe's Spools
Brimstone Woods at Liberty Farm, 50 Liberty Farm Road, Antrim, NH 03440 Jane McLean designed this quilt square as a logo for PinchPenny Threads, her home-based sewing business at Beebe Farm in Knox, NY. The 6'x6' block is now in New Hampshire. |

Mariner's Compass
208 Maple Avenue, Altamont, NY 12009 The owner designed this barn quilt to fit on the shed, hence its nonstandard size (3+1/2'x3+1/2'). John Elberfeld used four shades of blue to create this seaworthy compass. We look forward to an Albany County-wide quilt barn trail someday! |
Schoharie Wheat Basket Former Olde Corner Store, Factory Street, Gallupville, NY 12073 Designed by Jane McLean from a suggestion by store owner Joy Heckman, and painted by John Elberfeld. It commemorates Schoharie Valley's role as "Breadbasket of the American Revolution," supplying grain for the bread of the Continental soldiers. This block is part of Schoharie County Quilt Barn Trail. Block is 8'x8', hung diagonally, or on point. |

Trinity 221 Larson Lane, Delanson, NY 12053 Owner Don Martin designed this barn quilt using a computer-assisted design program. The barn, a converted chicken coop, is just over the border in Schenectady County, NY. Fortunately, the Martins and their barn quilt survived a destructive tornado that touched down nearby in May 2014 just after they installed the block. Block is 4'x4' and is hung diagonally, or on point. |

Lew and Ellen Sturgess were visiting Hilltown cemeteries on a genealogical trip and were so impressed with barn quilts that they wanted one of their own. Ellen chose the spring-like colors. Travelers can see the quilt. created by John Elberfeld in May of 2014, at the Sturgess home in Otsego County. Block is 4'x4'.

Wunsapana Farm, 4557 Hurst Road, Altamont, NY 12009 Teri Conroy raises llamas, chickens, and other animals at Wunsapana Farm near Guilderland Center. She's a fiber artist who welcomes senior citizens and individuals with special needs to visit and take the llamas on walks. Please respect the private property on this working farm and remain in your vehicle. |

Liz Argotsinger, a quilter and ironwoman athlete, created this barn quilt, an Ohio Star with a Foursquare in the center, for her friend. Liz is one of the founders of Fulton Montgomery Quilt Barn Trail in upstate New York. Block is 4'x4'. |

Bellinger Album Quilt Old Stone Fort, 145 Fort Road, Schoharie, NY 12157 Schoharie County Historical Society commissioned this barn quilt based on the 1850 Bellinger Album Quilt in its collection. The Old Stone Fort celebrates and preserves the rich, historic legacy of New York's beautiful Schoharie Valley. John Elberfeld created the block, which is on Schoharie County Quilt Barn Trail. Bellinger Album Quilt
This exquisite antique quilt was made in reds and whites, with names carefully cross-stitched in the center blocks, probably by the bride's mother. Album or friendship quilts were often made by a community to give to a young bride or a family who was moving away. The pattern is also known as "Chimney Sweep." The red bricks surround the opening at the top of the chimney. |
